Soft Skills
Lancaster Fairfield Community Action Agency is partnering with TeenWorks, Inc. (a local teen staffing agency) to provide "soft skills" training to at-risk youth, who have barriers to employment.
The curriculum utilized is Soft Skills to Pay the Bills: Mastering Soft Skills for Workplace Success and was developed by The Office of Disability Employment Policy. The training focuses on workplace readiness skills in six skill areas:
Communication
Enthusiasm/Attitude
Teamwork
Networking
Problem-solving/Critical Thinking
Professionalism.
Participants complete pre and post assessments which measure changes in their knowledge, behavior, and attitudes as a result of the training. Youth who successfully complete the training will receive a certificate of completion and have the opportunity to participate in a Subsidized Youth Employment Program, through Teenworks, Inc.
